Senior Scholarship Exhibition

All information for this event is being finalized. Please monitor your email for updates!

The Senior Scholarship Exhibition is one of Illinois largest and most influential student scholarship exhibitions. This truly unique exhibition serves both as a celebration of students’ artistic achievement and as a means of providing talented young artists with opportunities to succeed in higher education.

Each year, over 130 high schools from across the state participate in the IHSAE’s Senior Scholarship Exhibition, which is held in Chicago. Over 300 Portfolios are received each year. Each portfolio is reviewed by our collegiate sponsors for scholarship consideration and each scholarship recipient is reviewed by a judge panel for inclusion in the annual exhibition.

Why should students participate in this show?

  • Last year our students received over $84 million dollars in college scholarship offers

  • It’s an opportunity to see what colleges are interested in you and will put you in direct contact with admissions counselors

  • Some colleges will waive their application fee if you submit to the Senior Scholarship

  • Chance to exhibit a selected work in the Senior Scholarship Exhibition

  • Potential for SSE Awards and Prizes

How is the show being altered for the 2021 exhibition series? (subject to changes)

  • The 2021 show will include the same award recognitions as past years

  • The submission process will be the same, but the judging process will be conducted virtually.

  • Awards will be presented virtually to students in some way over a 2-week period in Late-March 2021

Portfolio Review and Notification Process

SUBJECT TO CHANGE Portfolio Review Completed portfolio submissions will be reviewed by admissions representatives from accredited colleges, universities and art schools from across the country for scholarship consideration. Notification Process ArtConnectED will send out email notifications to all students who receive scholarship offers. Colleges have been asked to notify students both electronically and by mail. All scholarship offers are considered provisional until the student has completed a formal application and been accepted to the offering school. Notification of Artwork Inclusion in Exhibition Students and their art teacher will be notified by ArtConnectED of their participation in the Senior Scholarship Exhibition prior to the exhibit via email.

The IHSAE has set expectations for its participants and it is essential that all labeling be uniform and consistent.
